It is no secret here that I really like mermaids and mermen. I have plenty of favorites collections full of them, and done a few analyses. I also write stories of them, practice monofin swimming, and even invented a new swimming style that I am trying to put together in a book. However, several people have asked me why I like merfolk. That is a good question as if you were to meet me in real life, there would be a good chance you would not suspect so. I am a straight guy who is also a US Army vet who still practices marksmanship, am a pilot, and an aviation mechanic. Merpeople are not often fancied by those such as I. That being said there are plenty of reasons as to why merfolk are my favorite fictional people. In this post I will explane why I love merfolk, and for those that like them as well but can’t explain it, perhaps this might help you too. First off, my love of merpeople began where a great deal of fans also got their start, Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” I was a kid at the

And now part 3 Fourth: Ariel was right that Eric was a great guy. Now we will get into the issue that is possibly the biggest of all, Ariel’s love for Eric. It has been said that Ariel barely knew Eric with some even saying she didn’t at all. Of course in the story when Ariel shows that her want to be part of the human world is changed to part of Eric’s world (her song literally changes from “part of ‘that’ world” to “part of ‘your’ world”), she only knew him for less than a day, and in real life it is true that that is not enough time. Ariel may not have known Eric for that much time, but is it any less time than any of the other Disney princess that came before her? Also, Ariel did see more about Eric’s character than a lot of the other Disney princesses. Snow White, Cinderella, and Arora danced and sang with their princes for a short time, but what did they learn besides that they had good looks and could dance and sing well? Not much. I would say all Disney princesses before
In this life of normal flow, there are those times of the too and the fro, and drive us clear from the status quo. Sometimes they are treasure and our fortunes grow, but much we fear those when we are in woe. For when tragedy strikes, it cling to us so, and feels like it drags us to the depths below. It can shatter our will like a shot from a bow. Our hearts pressed over as if they were dough. Yet the riches of this world are no shield from this foe, for to be up so high yet feel so low, happens far more often than you may ever know. Many may be good at not letting it show, but whether in a hut or a chateau, it clings to us harshly and refuses to let go. But in realizing it though, is the first step however slow, to coming up from the harshness as cold as the snow. No matter what troubles you, whether recent or long ago, may these words give you strength to deal them a blow. May they set aglow, all those in woe, and the warmth within your heart continue to grow. And may your glow

Welcome back you all. Hope you found the first part of my analysis interesting. I will talk about the outside forces that influenced Ariel. Second: Ariel was having a lot of trouble in her life. The human world may be a mess to a lot of people, but Ariel’s world wasn’t perfect either. This is something many of us forget as well. Her love for humanity often clashed with her father King Triton’s view, that humans were barbarians. He saw humanity as heartless, evil, and above all, dangerous (especially too his daughters). He had no fear of expressing that, and he and Ariel would constantly be at odds about it, going to the point where most would agree was too far. The word “human” was pretty much what we would call today a “trigger word” to Triton. Merely saying it was enough to enrage him, and anything close to it would make him mad as well. Though not with as much hatred as her father, most of the people living in Ariel’s underwater world didn’t think highly of humans either. Ariel

Greetings to you all. As you probably know already from my favorites list, I love mermaids and mermen. Like a lot of you out there, I got my start in liking these aquatic people, at the age of four, from Walt Disney’s classic movie “The Little Mermaid.” It’s a movie that to this day I enjoy. I love the world the people at Disney created. The well-drawn undersea world of merpeople is simply spectacular. Like so many others, Ariel has always been my favorite Disney princess. With her kind personality, curiosity, wonderful singing, and of course the fact that she is a mermaid always made here cool in my book. However, one thing that I have noticed is that there are a great many who have one big critique about her, and it is one that even some who are her diehard fans have. This is that she was a fool for giving up all that she had for a guy she only just met. While there is no escaping that Ariel may have been a bit boneheaded, too many overlook much of the circumstances and other

Mako Mermaids: addressing Zac
I've heard quite a few things from people who have watched the show “Mako Mermaids”, but the most frequent (besides claiming the previous series “H2O: Just Add Water” is better) is that they do not like Zac, and they give several reasons. He's a jerk, he is ignorant, and he is stupid are what I have read.
Well each one of the characters have their flaws (Nixie gives up too easily, Sirena is naive and is too easily lead, and Lyla obviously is too stubbornly driven to see those around her) but that is a good thing, because character development helps make a story better. It's pointless to write a story about perfect pe
